An Interactive Way to Learn about 3D Medical Image Processing

Mimics is the leading software for 3D medical image processing and it is used by universities and medical device companies around the world for advanced biomedical R&D. However, we know that early knowledge of Mimics can also help today’s biomedical students prepare to become the leading researchers of tomorrow. Therefore, Materialise has developed an affordable version for educational purposes: Mimics Student Edition, or in short: Mimics^SE.

The Educational Program is aimed at teaching biomedical students about medical image processing and the many powerful 3D applications made possible by it. With Mimics^SE,  students are able to develop skills that give them an advantage when later applying for jobs at major medical device companies (like Stryker, Medtronic, Biomet, Zimmer, Boston Scientific, Wright Medical, Depuy and more).

Mimics^SE has all the functionality of a full Mimics license*, but it only works with five image datasets that are provided by Materialise. These datasets are chosen to represent various parts of the body (knee, hip, chest, head, brain) and are present in the exercises for the Mimics^SE course book.

Mimics^SE also comes with access to the Mimics Innovation Suite Community, an online forum for biomedical R&D.
